Our last stop in the Pearl Islands in Panama is the private island San José. We were the only boat but pelicans and cows kept us company. Next passage was the sail to the border of Panama, Puerto Armuelles, and this one goes around two capes that are infamous for strong winds and riptide.
We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved aboard our sailboat RAN, a custom built aluminium Beason 40, untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter and started to sail south along the coast of Europe. There is no set route and we will go where the wind and our minds take us.

Malin looks so cute with the dual hair braids. Great sail even with the confused wind. I enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing.
Close call!
18:00 Pay $115 to check-out? After paying almost $500 to check-in? Crazy Prices?? Cruising sailors are not made of 💰💰💰 !!
08:45 Raymarine autopilot control panel not looking too good here. ⎋ Ꝇ ꝇ 💥
So, Panama EVEN got you Again leaving, WOW 😯 18:30
What a Giant Pain in the @$$ Panama 🇵🇦 RedTape turned out to be,
Hasta Lawago Pendjho…!! 😫😡🤬
Johan, do you have an air horn (like Barry's) on board? I think you would have definitely got that ships' crews attention with one of those AND a flare. 😲
What a wonderful episode you guys are the best. I loved the ending, so positive.
When checking out of Panama did you have to clear out with the Panamanian Dept of Redundancy Dept too 😉
Safe travels to you two.
I love to watch the older videos by RANsailing. Sometimes they are better the second time around.
Good that you speak Spanish. The Cape or nearby US warning of drug smugglers and to avoid 10 miles from shore. You stated 3 miles near shore. Not sure in meters but too close maybe or not
Love your videos… They are so interesting and informative… Well done the pair of you…
A wonderful bird is the Pelican, his peak holds more than his belly can, he holds enough in his peak to last him a week, I wonder how the hell he can. Stay safe.
Hello
i have been watching your videos with pleasure, malin is such a sweetheart you are a lucky guy 🙂
How do they have 64k subs and only 47k views in almost six months?
I love watching your videos. Well done!

Big ships can be such Aholes! I saw the Mexican Navy run into 3 Sail boats in a row!
Friends, I'm wondering what it will be like when you get home. After meeting amazing places, people and nature. Will they miss you? You will have much knowledge of our planet. Hugs and good winds.
Thank you.👍⛵️
Cooking beef while watching cows on the beach…If Johan ever gets knighted, we will call you Sir Loin….
All those fillet mignons walking the beach. Yummy.
Why am I so behind? Because your video's are to wonderful to watch on a phone! Enjoying Ran on my PC this Saturday morning!
EU tariffs have desimated the banana industry of the Caribean because of their protectionist attitude. Such a shame that poor country's trying to get by are killed off because of greedy politicians ..
Malin how many languages do you speak, you are a good asset and Johan has the super skills for the boat!
Paradise. Arriving at anchorage before dawn.
Have you seen Karl from Untie The Lines?
Another wonderful episode. Appreciate the information at the end regarding exploitative corporate conduct.
When you get far enough north, come to Whidbey Island in the state of Washington. We are a sailing family and would love to have you visit. If you ever get this far north of course.
Fantastic video! Thank you for sharing your adventures…I follow you guys, and a few others, and I learn something every time I watch.
If you guys are in the proper area maybe consider going to the Solomon Islands. Very beautiful and tropical
Did I hear that you were sailing to San Diego? If you are I would love to suggest a meet-up with your followers. I suggest this because living in San Diego and I can almost be certain to make it and would love to meet both of you. 😛
Thanks for sharing your adventures and for making such great videos.
Always enjoy and always a thumbs up!
You'll always get a thumbs up from me guys. the thought and prep you put into this is really amazing!
Great episode, thanks. When you anchor at a private island are you required to obtain permission?
Can’t wait to see where the winds take you. Always look forward and enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work!
Malin has the look…she wants to go back to Sweden for the winter and maybe get a job in a grocery store… or she can continue sailing?
Good vid ya'll.
Thank You both, for another wonderful adventure. We so enjoyed the video,……… be safe on your continuing journey.
We need some blue whales
Actually came to you via Barry and Shadow. Very glad that I did.
Go north. It is about to get hot. 😉
If you are going up as far as playa de coco and papagyo my son and his wife would love to meet you. Malcolm teaches surfing at the four seasons resort. There is a great rock called witches rock and ollies point , which is all in a marine reserve. Playa del coco has good anchorage. Enjoying your travels. If ever you come to the Gold Coast , Australia , we would love to meet you. Stay safe.
I am enjoying RAN sailing more and more each episode. You are doing a great job. Thanks for sharing. Regards from Portugal.
good one! dolphins at night is awesome! our own splash date is in a few weeks 🙂
Amazing video. Enjoying your Instagram post. Hawaii is my favorite place to visit, Enjoy. 🌴🌴🌴🌺🌺☔👫👍😄😁😂🎨🍍🍌
As much as I enjoy your vlogs, I must say that your experiences in Panama as regarding current costs of transit and clearing in and out, convinced me not to do it again. It was a bucket list item from years ago that I enjoyed. Even with the friendly officials and the locals, I don't think I would now, considering the expense.
I always really enjoy your videos guys… A good degree of technical talk regarding your sailing conditions /boat speed etc, and the right mix of wildlife and your own personal stuff. Always a pleasure. Thank you!
